Woman arrested for child neglect after caught shoplifting
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV)--- Madison Police arrested a woman for child neglect after she was caught shoplifting.
According to Madison Police, officers responded to Woodman's on the west side for a report of shoplifting. The 35-year-old white female suspect was contacted and she expressed concern about her 2-year-old child being left with a neighbor. The address for the child was contacted, and after no response at the door, but hearing a child, officers entered the home and found the child alone with a dirty diaper.
Child protective services took custody of the child. The mother, also the suspect, was arrested for child neglect.
