Woman walking home in downtown Madison attacked, sexually assaulted by two men

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Madison police are searching for two men who attacked and sexually assaulted a woman walking home in downtown Madison Sunday night.

It happened just after 9:30 p.m. on East Mifflin Street. The woman, in her 50s, said she was walking, when she was attacked from behind, forced to a secluded area, and sexually assaulted. The woman was visibly shaken up when police arrived to the scene, but police said she was not taken to the hospital for any injuries sustained in the attack. Police said the woman is cooperating with police to help in the investigation and in stable condition.

Police are still investigating, but said the suspects are two white men with hoodies. Police told NBC15 they hope to use surveillance footage to get a photo of the two men.
