WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. The Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells is celebrating the 10th anniversary of their zip line course with a fundraising event benefiting Project Joy charity.
Curling Olympic Gold Medalist Matt Hamilton is kicking the event off on Saturday at 9 a.m.
"Matt is from McFarland originally, so he's going to be here meeting people and the USA Olympic Curling Association has set up a street curling event to let people curl with Matt," Chris Ebbens, Wilderness Resort Attractions Director, said.
The zip-a-thon is giving all the money raised back to Project Joy. An organization that is Matt's charity and it gives back to vulnerable children and families in the area.
"The goal of Project Joy is to empower and encourage kids and families to do their best and give them the ability to plan for the future," Ebbens said.
It costs $20 to zip line the only parameter is you have to meet a 70-270 pounds weight requirement. All the money raised goes back to Project Joy. Their goal is to get 500 people to zip line. The event is Saturday, June 15th from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. at the Wilderness Resort.
