MADISON, Wis. (WMTV)--- United Airlines announced they are adding a non-stop flight and more seats for the University of Wisconsin football season this fall.
A spokesperson with the Dane County Regional Airport said United Airlines is adding a non-stop flight for the Ohio State game on Oct. 26 which will played in Columbus, Ohio. In addition, the airline is adding more seats and larger planes to Chicago and Denver during the football season.
“We are proud to offer these additional options at the Dane County Regional Airport to accommodate traveling Badger fans who want to root for their favorite team and attend away games,” said Dane County Executive Joe Parisi.
The airport said tickets are available for purchase now for the Oct. 26 game. The plane will depart Madison on Oct. 25, and it will return on Oct. 27. The plane features three seating classes, large overhead bins, on-board entertainment and Wi-Fi.
“It is exciting that our south central Wisconsin sports fans will have more options for catching their favorite team across the US”, said Airport Director Kim Jones.
“Our playbook this year will make it easier than ever for fans, alumni, and students to cheer on their teams in other college towns across the country,” said Ankit Gupta, United’s vice president of Domestic Network Planning.
The Dane County Regional Airport provides non-stop services to 19 cities.
