BLOOMINGTON, Ind Wisconsin softball's run at the Big Ten tournament came to an end Saturday morning at the hands of top-seeded Michigan. The Badgers dropped an 8-3 decision in their fourth-ever appearance in the B1G semifinals.
Sophomore Taylor Johnson got the Badgers on the board in the top of the fourth with a solo home run to left center.
Stephanie Lombardo and Caroline Hedgcock sparked a powerful fifth inning for Wisconsin with back-to-back singles. A Kelly Welsh single in the next at bat loaded the bases allowing Kayla Konwent to send two runners home with a dynamic double to left center.
Ultimately, Michigan's offense prevailed as they recorded 15 hits for eight runs.
The Badgers await the announcement of the 2019 NCAA Tournament field. The bracket will be announced tomorrow at 8 p.m. (CT).
