Former Verona standout shines at Big Ten Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind Former Verona high school standout Beata Nelson was named the Big Ten Swimmer of the Championships for the second year in a row after breaking her own Big Ten record.

Nelson clocked in with a time of 1 minute, 48.47 seconds, breaking the Big Ten record that she set last season.

Nelson finished the meet with three gold medals. Wisconsin finished 5th in the meet with 717 points.
