MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -- Forward Madison FC, Madison's first professional soccer team will play its inaugural season in Madison-inspired jerseys, which the team unveiled Saturday afternoon during a fan event at Breese Stevens Field.
The four kits — home, away and two goalkeeper shirts — were manufactured by the hummel brand and designed in-house at Forward Madison FC.
The home jersey is light blue, with a white sash down the center representing Madison’s isthmus. Its sleeves feature a flamingo wing pattern, and its side contains a sublimated flamingo
The jersey also features pink highlights including hummel’s signature chevrons, signifying “Forward." The words “Forward For Madison” are printed inside the collar.
The jerseys are meant to show the team’s love for its home city.
“While the away, alternate and goalkeeper kits will surely have different looks in the future, our hope is that the classic home design will become a standard known for all time. The Madison city flag color base, the sash representing the isthmus and the inclusion of the Forward flamingo will become iconic," Peter Wilt, Forward Madison Managing Director said.
The away jersey is white, with a sash outlined in pink. Its primary feature is the pattern of pink flamingos that spreads across the kit. The words “Loud. Vibrant. Unwavering.” are printed inside the collar in reference to the motto of "The Flock," FMFC’s independent supporters’ association.
The goalkeeper jerseys are black and gold when playing at home and pink with a navy blue flamingo pattern when playing on the road.
Each jersey features the logo of Dairyland Insurance on the front, part of a three-year agreement announced by the club Friday.
The team will kick off its first-ever game on April 6, and open at home on April 27 against Greenville Triumph SC. You can buy tickets here.
