High School sports action from Friday

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -- There was plenty of high school sports action to match the collegiate entertainment of Friday night.

Madison West and Monona Grove faced off at Mansfield Stadium. The Regents had the bases loaded before a line drive was snagged by Wyatt Graber who swiped second base to end the inning for Monona Grove.

With the Silver Eagles at the plate, Graham Arndt sent one to the warning track. He would score on thanks to P.J. Spalding during the next at bat for Monona Grove.

Same inning, Brady Gerothanas puts the ball to the wall as well for the Silver Eagles. Tack on two and Monona Grove dominates, 9-0.

In girls soccer, Edgewood hosted Sugar River for a Friday night contest. There was no score in the first half, until Edgewood broke through with slick moves to create enough space to get shots on the net.

Rachel Heittola made some great saves for Sugar River, but it wasn't enough as Edgewood won, 2-0.
