Steve Stricker named U.S. Captain for 2020 Ryder Cup

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WMTV) -- Edgerton native and Madison resident Steve Stricker has been named United States Captain of the 2020 Ryder Cup. The event will be played at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin September 22 through 27, 2020.

Stricker will be the 29th U.S. Captain since the Ryder Cup’s started in 1927. He made his Ryder Cup debut in 2008. Stricker was a member of winning efforts in Ryder Cups in 2008 and as a vice captain in 2016.

He is a 12-time winner of the PGA Tour and also played in five Presidents Cups.

Stricker has named Jim Furyk as the first of his vice captains.
