ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WMTV) -- The No. 19 Wisconsin Badgers basketball team couldn't complete the season sweep of the No. 7 Michigan Wolverines in a Big Ten conference match up in Ann Arbor Saturday.
The Badgers bested Michigan 64-54 at the Kohl Center the last time the two squads met on Jan. 19.
Ethan Happ led the Badgers with 18 points and 11 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as no other Badger had more than 9 points of their own. The Wolverines tandem of Charles Matthews and Jon Teske combined for 35 points.
A silver lining for the Badgers was their ability to continue the impressive shutdown of star freshman Ignas Brazdeikis. The Canadian forward was held scoreless in the January battle in Madison, and was limited to 2 points on 1-9 shooting on Saturday on his home court.
After a halftime score of 27-27, the Wolverines outscored Wisconsin 34-25 in the second half. The Badgers six-game win streak came to a halt.
The Badgers now move to 9-4 in conference play in 17-7 overall. They play No. 9 Michigan State at the Kohl Center on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 6:00 p.m.
