3 ambulance crew members taken to hospital after rollover near Prairie du Sac

PRAIRIE DU SAC, Wis. (WMTV) -- Wisconsin Highway 78 reopened Thursday morning after an ambulance rollover near Prairie du Sac.

According to the Sauk County Sheriff's Office, an ambulance was responding to a rollover crash on U.S. Highway 12 near CTH Z around 10-20 a.m. Roughly 10 minutes later, the ambulance was involved in a rollover on STH 78 in the township of Prairie.

According to the initial investigation, the ambulance was driving on STH 78 when it began to slide on the ice covered roadway. The ambulance went off the road and overturned onto its right side.

Three emergency medical technicians had non-life threatening injuries and were taken to Sauk Prairie Health Care for treatment.

The ambulance was not transporting any patients at the time of the crash.

STH 78 was closed for two hours during the investigation.

According to the sheriff's office, there were no injuries in the original rollover crash on USH 12.
