Lodi business laying off 30 employees

LODI, Wis. (WMTV) -- 30 hourly employees will be laid off for a limited time at a Lodi business.

Alkar-RapidPak in Lodi sent a layoff notice to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development on Jan. 22.

In its notice, the company said the employees are represented by the Iron Workers Local 811 Union.

According to Alkar-RapidPak's website, the company is owned by the Middleby Corporation in Elgin, Illinois. Alkar-RapidPak provides equipment and resources to cook and chill processed meats, poultry, and seafood.
