Authorities pull man's body from Lake Mendota

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV)--- The body of a Madison man who was in his 60’s was pulled from Lake Mendota on Friday morning.

Joel DeSpain, a spokesperson with the Madison Police Department, said officers were called around 7:15 a.m. to the Lake Mendota shoreline in the 100 block of E. Gilman Street for a report of a body floating in the water.

DeSpain said there are no initial signs of foul play. The death doesn’t appear to be suspicious. It will be up to the Dane County Medical Examiner to determine the exact cause and manner of the death and to potentially release the name of the man.
