Man injured, suspect on the run after shooting in Sun Prairie

SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (WMTV) - A man is in the hospital and the person that allegedly shot him is on the run after an incident in Sun Prairie Tuesday night.

According to the Sun Prairie Police Department, just before 7:30 p.m., officers responded to the 200 building of Arlington Apartments on Schiller Street after multiple reports of a shooting. When police got there, they found a 26-year-old man with a gunshot wound in his abdomen.

Residents at the Arlington Apartments told NBC15 that this shooting makes them nervous and scared, "It happened to the building behind mine, it very easily could’ve been a bullet that went through my kitchen window my living room window any window in my house it just makes me nervous," Theresa McBride, a resident since June, said.

The man officers said is behind the shooting ran away before police got to the scene. Officials said the initial investigation indicates the shooting was an isolated incident.

The victim is in stable condition at a local hospital.

NBC15 reached out to the Arlington Apartment Complex management and they did not have a comment.
