Badger Bowl lives on

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -- A Madison Landmark that closed down in 2016 is making a comeback -- inside a car dealership.

Badger Bowl was a popular hangout spot for decades on Madison's south side. It first opened in 1977, but was torn down last year to make way for a new business.

Fields Volvo in Madison, off East Badger Road, just off the Beltline, is now on the old site of Badger Bowl. When renovating the new building, they kept a couple of old lanes inside.

There are two lanes that customers can walk up to and bowl, while waiting for their car. Sharon Klietsch, the General Manager at the dealership says people are surprised it's here, but since people know about Badger Bowl, they're happy to see the two lanes.

"When we bought Badger Bowl, we thought since Badger Bowl was such a huge part of the community, it'd be really nice to keep two lanes for our customers to use while they're waiting for a car, or while they're buying a car their kids can play," says Klietsch.

Now, a small piece of history, lives on in Madison.
