BELOIT, Wis. (WMTV)--- An interim principal has been named at Beloit Memorial High School.

Brian Vissers, a spokesperson with the School District of Beloit, said Emily Pelz will serve as interim principal. Pelz will retain her role as Executive Director of Special Education. Her other responsibilities will be redistributed to other administrators.

Vissers said the district will work with Pelz to develop a transition plan, and she will work with the high school administrative team to implement a site-specific transition plan.

Vissers said Dr. Orlando Ramos, former principal at Beloit Memorial High School resigned his position after he was placed on administrative leave. The district said the reason for the leave was a personnel matter.

Ramos started with the Beloit School District in the summer of 2018. It was his first year as principal at Beloit Memorial High School.
