Child on bike hospitalized after being struck by vehicle in Fitchburg

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -- A child was taken to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle Sunday afternoon.

According to Fitchburg Police, officers responded to the 2600 block of Smithfield Drive, near the intersection of Smithfield and Norfolk Drive, after 1 p.m for a call of a vehicle versus a child on a bicycle. The child was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure. Fitchburg Police told NBC15 they do not believe the child has any serious injuries.
