Dog rescued from Rock River in Town of Beloit

TOWN OF BELOIT, Wis. (WMTV)-- A dog was rescued this morning from the Rock River after escaping from its owner in the Town of Beloit.

According to the Town of Beloit Fire Department, the dog got away from its owner on their morning walk on Wednesday. The dog owner was in the process of reporting their pet missing, when a resident on the 2100 block of Riverside Drive spotted the dog in the river.

The fire department arrived at the scene around 8:20 a.m. According to the Town of Beloit Fire Department, they were able to get the dog out of the water in five minutes. The dog appeared to be shaken up and cold. She was returned to her owner.
