OSHKOSH, Wis. (WBAY) - An autopsy was performed Friday on a two-month old child who was victim of a homicide in Oshkosh.

Police say the child was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The child's father, a 27-year-old Oshkosh man, was arrested on a charge of 1st Degree Reckless Homicide, police say.

Thursday evening, Oshkosh Police were called to what they described as an "incident" in the 500 Block of W 8th Avenue. The department says the incident involved the two-month old child.

Police say no weapons were involved in the incident. Police could not say whether other children were in the home.

The cause of death will be determined by the autopsy, which was performed by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office. Results are pending.

Police have not released the name of the child or the father.

Officers were called to the scene at 7:14 p.m.

In an unrelated case, Oshkosh Police are investigating the death of a three-year old girl. Police say the girl was found dead at a home in the 1600 block of Sanders St Friday morning. No cause of death was released.

Oshkosh Public Information Officer Kate Mann says these cases have taken a toll on the first responders.

"It's hard for everybody who's involved. From the family members of the child to the police officers to the firefighters who respond to the dispatchers, " Mann says. "A lot of people are effected and it effects our community too, especially around the holidays. So again, it's a really sad time for the city of Oshkosh right now."
