Water rescue called off at Olbrich Park in Madison, no one in distress

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV)-- A water rescue was called off after people first thought to be stranded on Lake Monona in Madison are not in distress.

Madison first responders were called to Olbrich Park after it appeared people were stranded on ice surrounded by water on Lake Monona.

But after arriving at the scene it became clear no one was in danger, and crews returned to their stations.
