MADISON, Wis. (WMTV)-- Madison's Goodman Community Center was one of three centers across Wisconsin to receive a surprise meal from Cousins Subs and the Milwaukee Bucks.
Bango and members of the Bucks' Dance Team and Hoop Troop delivered the meal to the Goodman Community Center Tuesday afternoon.
Nearly 190 children between the ages of 5 and 17 received the meal. The children are part of the organization's TeenWorks, Fit Youth, and Girls, Inc. programs.
The surprise meal is part of Cousins and the Bucks annual "Block Out Hunger" campaign, which focuses on providing food to those in need across Wisconsin.
The three community centers were chosen due to their extensive work in helping to ensure youth and their families have access to the nutrition and support needed to thrive.
Since 2016, the "Block out Hunger" campaign has collected 14,437 pounds of food and donated a total of $51,518 for emergency food supplies at pantries statewide.
