JANESVILLE, Wis. (WMTV) -- Around 6 p.m. on Wednesday police responded to a shooting on the 2600 block of Kellogg Ave. The victim of that shooting has died.
Janesville police are holding a press conference at 2 p.m. on Thursday to release more information.
The suspect in the shooting, another man, was arrested on Wednesday night after a police chase in Green county. Witnesses of the shooting were able to identify the man and help police catch him after he fled the scene.
According to Lt. Curtis Quinn with the Green County Sheriff's Office, they received a call around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday to check for a shooting suspect who lived in the Town of Cadiz. While they were looking for him, officers with the Monroe Police Department spotted the suspect's vehicle in Monroe.
Quinn said Green County Sheriff's deputies tried to stop the vehicle, but he refused to pull over. The chase covered 15 to 20 miles and ended in the Town of Decatur. Quinn said the suspect voluntarily stopped his vehicle and officers took him into custody. According to Quinn, Brodhead Police officers also assisted in the pursuit.
Janesville Police are investigating a shooting on the 2600 block of Kellogg Avenue.
According to Rock County Communications, the call came in at 6:10 p.m. for a gunshot victim.
Police are asking people to avoid the area of Kellogg and South Crosby Avenues. They are expecting traffic delays in the area as they continue their investigation.
