JANESVILLE, Wis. (WMTV)-- A possibly armed and dangerous suspect is still on the run after fleeing from police following a pursuit on foot that ended at a Janesville trailer park, the Rock County Sheriff's Office says.

Authorities called off the manhunt around 6 p.m. Friday, as they were not able to take the suspect into custody. Rock County Sheriff Troy Knudson tells NBC15 that the search will continue as a criminal investigation.

No one was injured during the manhunt on Friday, Knudson said.

The Sheriff's Office did not release the suspect's name, however they described him as a 24-year-old man, standing 6'1" tall and weighing around 275 lbs. Authorities said they believe the suspect would stand out.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the suspect was wanted on drug charges and refused to stop when officers tried to stop the vehicle around 1:30 p.m. Friday. The pursuit headed south on Highway J, near the Town of LaPrairie.

Authorities eventually found the vehicle abandoned in Rockvale Mobile Home Park, at 6219 S. USH 51, in Janesville. Investigators believe the suspect ran from the scene and could be armed, with Sheriff Knudson noting the suspect has been known to carry weapons.

Rock Co. deputies, agents with the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation, K-9 teams from Winnebago, Illinois, and Beloit police officers are all assisting in the search for him.

The search prompted a lock down at Blackhawk Technical College and Rock University High School, as well as the trailer park, School District of Janesville said. The school lock down was lifted shortly before 4 p.m.
