Judge sentences man involved in Culver's murder to 25 years in prison

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV)--- One of two men accused of robbing a Culver’s which resulted in a man being scared to death has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

According to court records, 33-year-old Nicholas A. Ivy appeared in a Dane County courtroom on Friday morning for his sentencing hearing. A judge also sentenced Ivy to 10 years of extended supervision.

Ivy pleaded guilty in August of 2018 to a felony murder charge with a party to a crime modifier. All other charges were dismissed.

Authorities said workers were remodeling the Culver's off of Todd Drive. They said Ivy along with Xavier Fleming entered the restaurant on June 27, 2017 just before 3:00 a.m. and held the workers at gunpoint while they robbed the restaurant.

Police said one of the workers died from breathing complications while at gunpoint.
