MADISON, Wis. (WMTV)--- A Madison man and a Madison woman face charges in connection with a shooting that left a 56-year-old man injured on Sunday morning.

Joel Despain, a spokesperson with the Madison Police Department, said 37-year-old Richard B. Adams was arrested for first degree reckless injury/great bodily harm, possession of firearm by felon and bail jumping. 35-year-old Nichole T. Nelson was arrested for being party to the crime of first degree reckless injury.

Despain said Adams and Nelson both know the victim, and the violence followed an argument outside of the apartment complex in the 600 block of Sawyer Terrace around 10:45 a.m. on Sunday. The victim was visiting someone, and he had just left the building when the suspects arrived to confront him.

Despain said witnesses provided officers with good information on the suspects including the vehicle description which helped led to their apprehension on Collins Court.

Despain said the victim, Adams and Nelson don’t live in the area where the crime took place.
