MADISON, Wis. (WMTV)--- A driver has been arrested after a woman was injured in hit-and run crash early Sunday morning.
Joel Despain, a spokesperson with the Madison Police Department, said 24-year-old Seedy Drammeh of Madison was taken into custody on Tuesday morning on a tentative charge of hit-and-run causing great bodily harm.
Police said officers were called to the intersection of E. Johnson Street and Wisconsin Avenue regarding a motor vehicle crash with injuries around 3:15 a.m. When officers arrived on scene, they found an unconscious woman down in the roadway. Nobody witnessed what happened. Based on the evidence found at the scene, police believe this was a serious hit and run involving a pedestrian.
The victim, a 46-year-old Madison woman, remains hospitalized in stable condition. She has serious but not life-threatening injuries.
