Madison police respond to shots fired near Aldo Leopold Park

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -- Madison police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Aldo Leopold Park near the basketball courts Sunday afternoon.

Witnesses described an altercation between 6 black males resulted in an exchange of gunfire around 3 p.m. Three suspects left on foot, and three suspects fled in a vehicle prior to police arrival.

Police found evidence of the shots near the basketball courts. No injuries have been reported. An occupied residence was struck by a bullet, but is not believed to be an intended target.

Police are still investigating.
