BARRON COUNTY, Wis. (WMTV)--- A man charged with kidnapping Jayme Closs and killing her parents waived his right to a preliminary hearing.
21-year-old Jake Patterson appeared in a Barron County courtroom on Wednesday morning for his preliminary hearing.
Patterson is accused of breaking into the Closs home in October 2018 and killing Jayme’s parents and then kidnapping her and bringing her to Douglas County.
Patterson has been charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide, one count of kidnapping and one count of armed burglary in Barron County.
Closs was able to escape the home in Douglas County and reached out for help when she saw a neighbor walking her dog.
Patterson is being held on a $5 million bond.
His arraignment has been scheduled for Mar. 27 at 1:30 p.m.
