Man forced to sell cell phone and give money to armed robber

MADISON, Wis. (WTMV) -- A man was forced by an armed robber to sell his cell phone at a Walmart and give the robber the money for it Sunday night.

According to the Madison Police Department, the 41-year-old Fitchburg man was using drugs at an unknown apartment on Calypso Road.

The victim reported that a man armed with a handgun at the apartment robbed him of the keys to his car. The suspect then compelled the victim to go to a Walmart to cell his phone and provide him with the money.

They returned to the Calypso Road area with the suspect. Once the suspect left, the victim was able to call police.

The victim was not injured.

The suspect was described as a black male in his 40's with a bald head.

The investigation is ongoing.
