DANE COUNTY, Wis. (WMTV)--- Authorities identified a Middleton man who died after a three-vehicle crash in Dane County on Wednesday morning.
The Office of the Dane County Medical Examiner said 54-year-old Albert A. Martin was pronounced dead at the scene. He died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the crash. Additional testing is underway at this time.
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the crash on County Highway M and Borchers Beach Rd. in Town of Westport just before 9:30 a.m.on Wednesday.
The sheriff’s office said an SUV was traveling eastbound on County Highway M just west of Borchers Beach Road when the male driver hit a patch of ice and lost control. The SUV first hit a mini-van which ended up in the ditch. The SUV then crossed the center line and was struck by a car that was traveling westbound on County Highway M.
The driver of the car was an 85-year-old Madison man. He sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The driver of the mini-van had only minor injuries and was not transported to a hospital.
