BELOIT, Wis. (WMTV) One of four men charged in the shooting death of a 5-year-old boy in Beloit will spend the next 15 years in prison, followed by another 10 years extended supervision.

Hugo Martinez, 21 was sentenced Wednesday for his role in the shooting death of Austin Ramos, Jr., 5. Martinez took a plea deal in February 2019 to the charge of second-degree reckless homicide.

Austin Ramos Jr. was shot and killed while riding in his father's car in January 2016. Prosecutors say Martinez - along with Sergio Ortiz, Eric Salazar-Mota and Isaac Torres, opened fire on the car as apparent gang-related retaliation for the death of Ortiz's brother.

Ortiz, Salazar-Mota and Torres all made similar pleas to second-degree homicide charges and are serving their respective sentences.
