SAUK PRAIRIE, Wis. (WMTV)--- An autopsy indicated that a mother and son found dead inside a Sauk Prairie home died from undetermined natural causes.

Chief Jerry Strunz of the Sauk Prairie Police Department said officers were called to the home on Monroe Street on Sunday just after noon to check on the welfare of the residents. When officers entered the home, they found the two residents deceased.

Police have identified the deceased as 88-year-old Margaret Fass and her son, 63-year-old David Fass.

Strunz said an exact time of death has not yet been determined. Evidence indicates that David died about one to two days prior to Margaret’s death.

Strunz said an investigation determined that David was the sole caregiver for his mother. It’s believed that Margaret was unable to care for herself once David had passed away.

Police would like to thank the community for their assistance with the investigation.
