MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) A record number of students graduated from UW System institutions in 2017-18 academic year, according to numbers released by the system's innovative Accountability Dashboard.
In a released from the UW, it states 36,825 students graduated at all levels. That's an increase of 13.4% over ten years earlier.
The findings revealed that the number of students of color who graduated at all levels was also a new record, 4,919.
“Students and parents recognize that Wisconsin’s public universities are accessible and affordable, and these graduation numbers indicate that UW System faculty and staff are doing a great job helping students progress toward a degree,” said Ray Cross, University of Wisconsin System president.
The release also stated that these new numbers show the graduate numbers have have steadily increased in recent years. It goes on to read that 81% of students who graduate with a UW degree live and work in Wisconsin five years after graduating.
