Janesville PD: Suspect arrested in July attempted homicide

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WMTV) -- A man has been arrested in a July 16 stabbing incident in Janesville after eluding several attempts for arrest.

According to the Janesville Police Department, on Friday, they were given information that 28-year-old, Shedrick D. Baldwin of Beloit was in the Town of Racine.

On July 16 at 12:52 a.m., police investigated a stabbing incident on the 1800 block of Green Forrest Run. The victim in that incident was attacked by Baldwin as he walked outside after leaving a friend's home.

Detective Kyle Austin was able to determine that Bladwin was the suspect, however they had several failed attempts to arrest him.

After given the new information, with assistance from the Racine Police Department, police observed Baldwin leaving a house he was suspected of visiting and was arrested.

Baldwin is being held at the Racine County Jail.
