Syringes found inside a wall of Wisconsin Dells hotels

WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (WMTV) Wisconsin Dells Police are investigating after 20 syringes with attached needles were found inside a wall at the Polynesian Water Park Resort.

Police responded to the resort on Monday, Feb. 25 for a complaint of drug paraphernalia, according to a release from police. Resort guests are the one who found the syringes in a wall space behind the toilet paper fixture in their room. Police believe the syringes had been used.

Brooke Abel told NBC15 she and her boyfriend found the syringes. Abel posted photos and a video on Facebook, and the post has gotten more than 3,000 shares.

The syringes were removed and hotel staff were instructed to inspect all other rooms, according to a release from police. It's not known how long the syringes were in the wall or who put them there.

Police said the management of the Polynesian is cooperating with the investigation and have provided rental records.

NBC15 reached out to the Polynesian Resort. Management said they take the safety and security of guests very seriously and are entrusting in authorities. They said they are fully cooperating with law enforcement.
