MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -- A collision involving a train disrupted traffic early Monday afternoon on Madison's near east side.

The slow-moving train appeared to have clipped the front end of the vehicle near the intersection of John Nolen Drive and East Lakeside Street shortly before 1 p.m.

Police blocked off the left turn lane onto East Lakeside while they worked to clear the scene. It has since reopened.

The 22-year-old woman in the car was not injured. Police say she turned onto East Lakeside Street and didn't realize a train was nearing the road until the railroad barrier arm came down on her vehicle.

She was cited for failure to yield.
