Wisconsin Snowmobiler Killed in Collision with Tree

A Wisconsin man is dead after his snowmobile ran into a tree along the Continental Divide Snowmobile Trail near Togwotee Pass in Wyoming.

The Teton County (Wyoming) Sheriff's Department says 61-year-old Michael Earl Willson of Palmyra was wearing a helmet, but still suffered severe head and neck injuries in the crash Tuesday.

Authorities say Willson failed to negotiate a sharp turn in the trail, and his snowmobile ran into a tree. Willson was thrown from the saddle and into the tree.

A friend who was with Willson tried to revive him, but neither the friend nor medical personnel were able to do so.
