MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Justice Rebecca Bradley says she will not coordinate with outside groups as she runs to retain her seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Bradley said Wednesday in an interview with The Associated Press that even though such coordination with issue advocacy groups is permitted based on a Wisconsin Supreme Court ruling from July, she will not do it.
But Bradley refused to call on such groups to stay out of her race. Bradley says they have a 1st Amendment right to free speech, so she won't tell them not to get involved. Instead, she says asks that they maintain a positive message.
Bradley was appointed to an interim 9-month term on the court Friday by Gov. Scott Walker. She is running for a full term in the spring election.
