As part of Teacher Appreciation Week, NBC15 is excited to announce our Crystal Apple winners, including Ms. Megan Hauri from Hackett Elementary in Beloit!
NBC15's fourth award recipient is Diane Noble, who teaches inmates at the Wisconsin Secure Program Facility, formerly known as the Supermax, in Boscobel.
The first recipient is Dawn Doherty, a special education teacher at Prairie View Middle School. Doherty is described as “an inspiration” by her co-workers.
She’s been teaching at Randolph Elementary and Middle School students for 26 years, and for Holly Swanson, she’s more than just a physical education teacher.
“Be the change you want to see in the world.” It’s a favorite quote of Stephanie Tresemer. She challenges her Brodhead middle school students and staff to “be the change” each day.
This year NBC15 is honoring five Crystal Apple awards and naming 20 honorable mentions to celebrate 25 years of recognizing teachers in Southern Wisconsin.
The first recipient teaches at Thoreau Elementary School in Madison, where both colleagues and parents call Kelly McCann an equity warrior and champion for social justice.
