Eager students and staff arrived for the first bell at Sugar Creek Elementary School in Verona to start a new school year on Wednesday. Verona Area School District officials say this is the second largest elementary school in Dane County, with many newcomers this year from other districts and even other countries.
Sgt. Randy Gordon with the DeForest post said last year there were a lot less people on the roads because of the pandemic. This year, he feels the amount of motorists is closer to 2018-2019 levels, and with that comes more speeding and citations.

The curtain will soon go up for the first time in 18 months for actors with the Sun Prairie Civic Theatre. A musical revue called “Don’t Stop Believin’ 2021” will be held July 23 and 24 at 7 p.m. and the 25 at 2 p.m. at Sun Prairie High School’s Performing Arts Center.
