Small chance of rain on Sunday

Sunday, March 24, 2020 4:30 a.m. The NBC15 First Alert Weather Forecast from Meteorologist James Parish: Good Sunday morning! There is good news in the forecast. It looks like our rain chances have gone down today. A stray shower or storm can't be ruled out, but most of the area will likely stay dry through most of the day. Our rain chances on Memorial Day have even gone down a little too. There will still be off and on rain and storm chances through the middle of next week. This morning is mild and muggy. Temperatures are on either side of 60 degrees. The only thing that will slow you down this morning will areas of fog. The fog could even be dense in spots with visibilities less than a mile spots. Any fog that is around this morning will likely be gone by 9 or 10 a.m. this morning. There is a line of strong storms is moving through Iowa this morning. This line will likely dissipate before reaching southern Wisconsin late this morning or early this afternoon. There is a slight chance a few showers could reach western Wisconsin late this morning or early this afternoon. Today will likely be the best day to get outside this holiday weekend. Rain and storms chances today will likely remain very limited today because of a cap in the atmosphere. Today will likely be the warmest day so far this year. Most places will hit or top 80 degrees for the first time in 2020. The last time Madison hit 80 degrees was back in September 30, 2019. Scattered showers and storms will be possible overnight into Monday morning, especially for places west of Madison. However, the best rain chances will likely stay west of the area. Tonight will be partly to mostly cloudy and mild. Lows will be in the mid 60s. Memorial Day will be very warm and humid. Scattered showers and storms will be possible during the afternoon. Memorial Day does not look nearly as wet as previous forecast. Highs on Monday will be in the low to mid 80s. Our rain chances will increase towards the middle of next week as a cold front approaches the area. Rain is looking likely on Tuesday and Wednesday. The second half of the week will be dry and touch cooler. Highs on Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. By Thursday and Friday, highs will be in the mid to upper 70s.
