Fighting cancer during Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and our guest is using her personal experience with the disease to help both friends and strangers diagnosed with cancer. Joanie Shawhan's a registered nurse who was diagnosed in 2006 with ovarian cancer, and now writes articles and books as a way to encourage women undergoing chemotherapy.

According to the Madison Police Department, they got a call around 12:30 a.m. for gunshots on the 5900 block of Jackson Quarry Lane. There inside a home, they found a 4-year-old with a gunshot wound to their foot.
